heelflip - trick tip from skatelines

WHAT'S UP GUYS,

today's trick is the heelflip.

Heelflips are similar to kickflips. The board does a 360 rotation on it's axis, but in the opposite way of a kickflip. Some people learn heelflip before learning kickflips, even if the kickflips are easier.
Obviously before learng heelflips you need to have a good ollie.
For sure learn them stationary on grass, on a carpet. Then practice them in motion.

Le's see now the feet placement:

put your backfoot on the tip of the tail.
Put you frontfoot in an ollie position with the toes hanging off.

Now that you know how to set up your feet let's start with the trick motion:

so you're going to pop the tail of your board, slide your frontfoot to the nose and then kick with your heel the edge of the nose.

As i said in the kickflip trick tip, don't try to land this trick at the first trys. The first step to land a trick is to not land it. So you're just going to make the board do the heelflip motion and get used to the heel flick, then begin to land it. That will make the trick a lot easier.

Other tips that might help you:

As i said in the kickflip trick tip, don't try to land this trick at the first trys. The first step to land a trick is to not land it. So you're just going to make the board do the heelflip motion and get used to the heel flick, then begin to land it. That will make the trick a lot easier.

When your learning heelflip remember to keep your shoulders parallel with the board ( i said that also in other trick tips, it's really important).

Most common mistakes with this trick is that your board doesn't flip enough so you land in 'primo' (it's when you land on the edge of the board). Or also it could happen that you flip too much so you land on the trucks. Don't worry, the more you practice, the more you'll know with how much power you have to flick your foot.

It might take you a few time, or a lot of time, but with practice you'll learn everything you want.
Remember, PERSISTENCE IS THE KEY, AND IF YOU WANT A TRICK, IT WILL
BE YOURS.
